Green Bay Packers’ all-time leading receiver, “Dancing with the Stars” champion and New York Times bestselling author Donald Driver has announced that Emmy Award-winning actress Sherri Shepherd will host the 2015 Driven to Achieve Awards presented by BMO Harris Bank.

Shepherd, who recently starred in Chris Rock’s blockbuster film, “Top Five,” is a New York Times bestselling author and in 2009 was named one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World.” Shepherd also competed alongside Driver on “Dancing with the Stars;” it was during this time that Driver said he gained an appreciation for Shepherd’s compassion for others.

“I’ve known Sherri for several years and I’ve come to realize that if there is one thing bigger than her personality, it’s her heart,” Driver said. “Her passion for helping the community, along with her incredible skills as a host made her a natural choice for us.”

“Donald’s been an inspiration to so many people over the years,” Shepherd said. “He is truly one of the “good guys” and I was thrilled that he would ask me to help him continue the amazing work he does in the community. It’s going to be a great night.”

Driver also announced that 2015 Miss America winner Kira Kazantsev will be in attendance at the Awards. Driver served as a judge for the 2015 Miss America Pageant earlier this year.

“The thing that impressed me most about Kira was her sincere desire to use the Miss America platform to make this world a better place,” Driver said. “And that’s really what Driven to Achieve is all about, people dedicating themselves to improving our world.”

The Driven to Achieve Awards presented by BMO Harris Bank recognizes individuals, organizations and celebrities going above and beyond to improve their communities on either a local or national level. Award recipients, who will be named in the coming weeks, will be recognized by Driver at a formal event at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee March 21, with each winner receiving a significant donation to help further their charitable efforts.  The 2014 Driven to Achieve Awards granted over $200,000 to its inaugural class of winners which included eight-time Grammy Award winner Gladys Knight, NCAA Champion wrestler Anthony Robles, John Bergstrom of the Bergstrom Corporation, Patti Gorsky of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, Lynda Kohler of Sharp Literacy, Douglas Meijer of Meijer Inc. and Blessings In A Backpack, and Laura Ziemer of the Miracle League of the Lakeshore.

Last year’s Driven to Achieve Awards event was co-hosted by Driver and NBC Sports personality Josh Elliott and featured a musical performance by the Empress of Soul, Gladys Knight.
